PTSO VOLUNTEER FORM 2024-2025

Below you will find links to take you to a variety of events we are hoping to plan for the 2024-25 year. Our events and activities need many different types of volunteers from creative, planning, to the busy bees ;) who make it happen.

Volunteer Areas/ EVENTS to plan:

The PTSO needs help finding Hawks that would like to be the decision makers! We need more leaders on our team. If you would be able to help us lead we would appreciate your help.

QUESTIONS:  info@horizonhighptso.org

The goal of the PTSO is to raise funding to support Horizon High School students' and teachers' initiatives.

We do this with funding from local establishment sponsorships or donations, community members, and spirit gear sales.

Please help us sell spirit wear, purchase spirit wear, become a member, volunteer, participate, or simply donate.

Thanks a whole bunch <3.

ENTER BY SEPTEMBER 30th to participate!

The second campaign:

Red Ribbon Week

from October 23rd to October 31st.

The theme for this year is "Life is a movie: film drug-free".  I'm organizing a drug-free and prevention fair at the school on.

The Third Campaign is Lock your meds. To promote that the medicine is in a secure place and disposed of safely

The fourth is Safe Home Smart Parties to discourage underage drinking or smoking during the graduation and/or the end-of-school celebrations.

November 20-  Teach-in and Family Thanksgiving Meal at 1:30

December 18-  Family Holiday Meal (Chili/soup/dessert cook-off with staff)  we will be creating a drawing for teachers, if you want to gather baskets, gift cards or anything else-  would need these by about Dec 9th, so that we can supplement if needed.

May 5-9- Teacher appreciation week.  Wednesday is a long Wednesday, so we will need to do 2 lunches. I can reserve the media center for this...

We would like to celebrate our teachers at the end of the year and in the spring during Teacher Appreciate week. In the past we have also shown appreciation for our teachers during the year with small monthly trinkets or editable items.

Coordinate small special treats

Club Affiliate - Looking for parents of student who are involved with a group of students that can help facilitate a teacher appreciation opportunity.  (ex: NHS, Sea Club, SGA)

Donation - Find food donations for Winter Holiday Lunch OR One lunch during Teacher Appreciation Week.   It is hard to find donations for 200 people so the more we have loking the better!

Preferably looking for consecutive volunteers once a month to help.
